本書的使用對(duì)象為大專院校會(huì)展專業(yè)高年級(jí)學(xué)生，同時(shí)也適用于具有相當(dāng)英語水平的從事會(huì)展工作的專業(yè)人員、管理人員、翻譯人員和策劃人員。 本教材以特殊英語(ESP)的教學(xué)原則為指導(dǎo)，既考慮到現(xiàn)代外語教育對(duì)教材的意義和功能的更新，也注意到會(huì)展行業(yè)的理論與實(shí)踐結(jié)合的緊密性，通過各項(xiàng)訓(xùn)練任務(wù)，把會(huì)展行業(yè)的專業(yè)知識(shí)和英語語言能力的培養(yǎng)緊密地結(jié)合起來。 本教材由六大部分構(gòu)成，包括展前、展中、展后、會(huì)議、世界著名會(huì)展中心介紹和商務(wù)信函的寫作等。每個(gè)大部分由若干單元構(gòu)成，每個(gè)單元都有背景知識(shí)、情景對(duì)話、注釋、語料庫、句型倉庫、練習(xí)等部分。練習(xí)部分包含語言能力的多種訓(xùn)練項(xiàng)目，如翻譯練習(xí)、角色對(duì)話、閱讀理解等。閱讀理解所選材料也緊緊圍繞會(huì)展這個(gè)中心，以期拓展學(xué)習(xí)者的視野，并能形成相關(guān)知識(shí)的鏈接。 本書還附有英漢對(duì)照的會(huì)展及會(huì)議的常用詞匯表，以便于讀者查找。
